Grecian Princess Costume

My oldest daughter has this costume - she has it on a blond long haired Gotz doll. Looks great! She also has the girl size version put away for her Halloween costume. I second the recommendation....its a nice outfit and the girls love it!

I visited AG Place over July 4th weekend, just after this outfit was released. It came home with me and with DH's 4-year-old goddaughter, so the appeal seems to cross all age barriers. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Seriously, it's absolutely darling, and I highly recommend it. My Little Sisters doll, Tess, is wearing it because of her lovely dark eyes and brunette hair. (The ancient Greeks were known for their dark hair/eyes, although blonde hair was seen as desirable, and many lightened their hair.) The matching girl's costume is just as adorable.

The Grecian costume is my all-time favorite AG outfit. It made me realize how much I wish AG would make many more costumes for the girls. They could be sold as Halloween costumes for AGOTs or as fancy costume ball outfits for Felicity and/or Samantha. That would be a great way to broaden out the historical span beyond the periods of the dolls themselves.

I have been considering this outfit, but in Michigan you always have to plan for a cold Halloween. (like, how will this look with a winter coat?)

The cold weather Halloweeen - always a challenge here too. But we figure a turtle neck under the dress and long underwear will probably keep my daughter warm enough. Usually we start with something like that and go the close neighbors houses first (so they can show off their costume!), then if we are still cold we resort to a coat on top and sometime even mittens! Now, if we get a cold rain like we did a couple of years ago all bets are off!

I'm thinking of doing an in-house halloween party for the preschool set here, we looked all through Oriental trading catalog just last night! We'll still do some house to house going out,but won't have to be out too long!

We saw this outfit on our last trip to AGPC and it looks incredible not only on blonde dolls, but also brunette, especially blue-eyed brunettes. It didn't appeal to me as much on the redhead and they didn't display it on any of the ethnic dolls. It was out of stock in the store, but they were putting out more as we were leaving.

If you want this outfit for Halloween, I wouldn't wait too long. It is very popular, we saw tons of little girls drooling over it, including ours. I would hate for someone on the board to not be able to get it because it is on back order or sold out and have to pay eBay prices! We are going to get it Saturday for Kailey to wear this Halloween.

Just wanted to issue a warning, of course I could be totally wrong, you never know with AG!

I grew up sweating in costumes in La. We were afraid we would freeze here at Halloween, but the 2 we've spent here so far have been great. Just in case, last year I made long capes with fur-trimmed hood for my 2 girls who were wearing princess costumes. I can't think of anything comparable for a Grecian costume, though!

I have the outfit! I had to get that as it is Greek! [img]tongue.gif[/img] Kailey is wearing now until the OLympics are over she is wearing the outfit now for over a month! and it is stunning on her!!! I love the outfit! And it is great on any AG doll! I love to wear it just for the Olympics and also Halloween!
